21 - Biblical Parenting - Part 2 - ... but Bring Them Up ...

May 1, 2013 Speaker: Tom Wells Series: Biblical Counseling Basics

Topic: Biblical Counseling Passage: Ephesians 6:4

In this 32 part series on Biblical Counseling Basics, this message is the second of a four part series on Parenthood. This message covers the second phrase in Ephesians 6:4 (... but bring them up ...). It covers such essential parenting principles as discipleship, salvation, grace, and teaching God's Word. It focuses on working on the parent's attitudes (humility, gratitude, a heart that seeks wisdom, rejoicing in trials, and the principles of sinners raising another sinner). It concludes with a charge to parents to acknowledge God's authority and how the "put-off / put-on" principle work with exasperating vs. nourishing your children.
